ABOUT US

Both the Sweetly Affordable Art Fair, and the NOIR Art Festival have been proudly presented by Wall Candy since 2018. As of 2024 we are excited to be working with community partners to make these events independent entities, and optimal exhibition experiences onto themselves.

Wall Candy events are currently organized and operated by artist Andrea Elena, with several local artists serving in advisory roles and/or selection committees, including artist Christina Lovisa, who originally conceptualized Wall Candy's "Sweetly Affordable" model.

Wall Candy grew from 60 artists in 2018, to 140 artists in 2019, and was held at the Aberdeen Pavillion in Lansdowne Park with the first "Off the Wall" component, which welcomed artists who create art that doesn't necessarily go on walls: such as sculptors, wood turners, ceramicists, potters, glass blowers and more.

Though 2020 presented many challenges, planning continued, and a Wall Candy event was held in September 2021 at Wesley Clover Park, along with the inception of the Breaking Barriers program which provides exhibition space to artists in BIPOC and 2sLGBTQIA+ communities

Starting in 2021, Wall Candy became a holding brand for various exhibition opportunities, including the original concept of "Sweetly Affordable", as well the inaugural  fine art event of "NOIR" taking place in the fall of 2022. Each of these events offer a distinct opportunity for either emerging or established artists, and invites visitors to experience a wide range of what the art community has to offer.
